A luxury hotel around the Olympic pool

Presentation Practical information
Formerly the most popular and avant-garde swimming pool in Paris.

A former hotspot of 1930s Parisian high society, Molitor Pool has made a comeback as bold as it is respectful of its heritage. After twenty-five years of silence and three years of transformation, this Art Deco icon reopened in 2014 under the direction of architect Jean-Philippe Nuel, who managed to reinvent the space without betraying its soul. Though partially listed as a historic monument, the original structure—too damaged to be preserved—was entirely rebuilt with remarkable fidelity to its original lines and materials.

Inaugurated in 1929 by Johnny Weissmuller, Molitor Pool long embodied the spirit of modernity and Parisian elegance. It entered swimwear history in 1946 as the site where the very first bikini was unveiled. Closed in 1989 due to health concerns, it quickly became a playground for graffiti artists, skaters and alternative collectives, transforming its abandoned pools into a cathedral of street art. Far from being erased, this underground chapter is now fully integrated into the site's identity.

Behind the reimagined facades, you’ll find the two legendary pools: the winter pool under a vast glass roof, and the 46-meter open-air summer pool, heated year-round. Today, Molitor Paris Hotel, a flagship of Accor’s MGallery collection, offers 124 rooms and suites facing the outdoor pool, styled in calming contemporary tones by Jean-Philippe Nuel. Some feature terraces, others rooftop views, all blending comfort with character.

Street art is omnipresent, echoing the rebellious DNA of the venue. Curated artworks line the hallways, while a unique art-cabin trail invites discovery. At its heart, the hotel proudly showcases a Rolls Royce tagged by graffiti icon JonOne—a vibrant homage to the site’s creative freedom era.

Upstairs, the rooftop offers an open view of the city and the Eiffel Tower, hosting cocktails, open-air dinners and timeless moments throughout the season. The Brasserie Molitor, led by chef Grégory Gbiorczyk, reimagines culinary classics with balance and lightness, while the private restaurant 1929, reserved for guests, offers a more intimate setting between the pools. Sunday brunch and occasional culinary events add a gourmet flair.

The Spa by Clarins—one of the largest in Europe with its 1,700 m²—spans two levels. It features thirteen treatment rooms, a yoga studio, hair salon, hammams, saunas and even a private suite with its own spa. Discover custom myBlend facial treatments that combine advanced cosmetics and high-tech tools for a complete body-and-mind reconnection.

Molitor is more than a luxury hotel. It embodies a lifestyle, a layered story of heritage, design, wellness, and culture. This unique address—somewhere between a private club and a living gallery—continues to surprise and soothe. It attracts both Parisians and international guests seeking exceptional moments and refined privacy.

With its iconic urban spirit, vibrant past, and bold present, Molitor Hôtel & Spa remains one of the most singular hotels in Paris. A place of memory turned into a place of life, where timeless elegance meets contemporary audacity. One you won’t soon forget.
