Practical information
Maison Rika, enter the universe of Swedish designer Ulrika Lundgren
The Swedish fashion designer Ulrika Lundgren opened the Maison Rika in early 2012, on the site of a former gallery, directly opposite her flagship store Rika. Madonna and Helene Christensen are said to be loyal clients of her rock and leather fashion.
This guesthouse is located in the Negen Straatjes neighborhood; this central district is named after the "9 little streets" adjacent to the main canals Singel, Herengracht, Keizersgracht, and Prinsengracht. It is full of fashion boutiques, wellness shops, unique gift stores, galleries, and places to have a drink and a bite.
The former interior decorator designed and drew the decoration of this elegant three-story townhouse herself, where black and white are always present and perfectly balanced, such as the old oak floors painted black and the lounge area set up near the large windows.
The ground floor hosts cultural events, showcases objects from designers appreciated by the hostess, and features a collection of travel items from Rika, known for its leather bags.
Accessed by a wooden staircase, each of the two floors hosts a spacious room with contemporary furniture, a touch of vintage, works by John Derian and San Ming on the walls, a king-size bed, and a lounge area by the large windows to enjoy the view of the Herengracht canal.
