Unusual in the Loire Valley
Presentation
Practical information
Your stay at the castle in a troglo suite.
Romantic destination, the Loire Valley continues to make us dream with its must-see castles that kings and queens loved to build along the banks of the Loire or the Cher.
Let's dive into history as Diane once dove into the Cher and revisit our French History over a weekend in the Loire-et-Cher.
Next to its illustrious neighbors, Blois, Ambroise, Chenonceau, the Château de Chissay has also hosted powerful figures. A royal residence, Charles VII and Louis XI stayed here. General de Gaulle is also said to have come on June 12, 1945, for negotiations that reportedly led to the Appel du 18 juin.
From its former function as a fortress - modified over the centuries - Chissay enjoys a commanding position over the Touraine plain crossed by the Cher. And today, over the pool installed in the park!
Our favorites for an unusual stay?
The troglodyte suite, carved into tuffeau stone at garden level. This limestone, a true white gold, was used for centuries to construct the beautiful homes and castles of the Loire.
The duplex suite, reached in the 13th-century keep after climbing a small spiral staircase. On the first level, the bedroom, and on the second level, the bathroom. Between the two, a glass floor and at the top, a panoramic view!
..:: On-site ::.. La Table du Roy restaurant welcomes you from Tuesday to Saturday (7 PM-9 PM) and an outdoor heated pool at 27°C is reserved for hotel guests (from May to September).
✯ Open from early April to mid-November ✯
