Unique Folly in enchanted lands
Unique place in France, this Belle Folie opened in the heart of a forest in the small commune of Ploëmel in the summer of 2019.
At the origin of this project, three men, Aloys Le Claquin, André Raibaut and Xavier Bodigue, and the desire to create an alternative, vibrant project where cultural actions, community life, seasonal family dining, and decidedly contemporary unusual accommodations would come together.
The first cabins are surprising and exclusive as they were all designed and built by final-year students from Ensa, the National School of Architecture in Nantes (Solid Thinking 2017 and 2018).
Will you figure out how to reach the Keravan, this blue caravan perched on top of a menhir, just 6 kilometers away from the Carnac alignment?
For SuperpAUsée, the double Canadian tent, the collectif Vous! relied on technical solutions from the maritime domain, such as knots, splices, and oilskin fabrics. In the upper tent, the very large double bed (180x210) extends into a wide outdoor trampoline. Nights under the stars await!
Nestled a bit further away, three poetic refuges also welcome tribes, families, and people with reduced mobility: Cactus, Branchée, and Tissée are sculptures to inhabit in the middle of the forest.
And in a small clearing, tents and hammocks await you from May to October, while throughout the year, amusing tiny houses shaped like chicks will provide shelter for backpackers and revelers.
At the heart of La Belle Folie, the rule of "Reuse, Reduce, Recycle" is not vain and commitments to the environment are strong.
Botanist Claude Figureau and his students from Kerplouz Agricultural High School (Auray) took part in this adventure. XXL-sized practical work! The large greenhouse (400m2), vegetated with banana trees, guava trees, pineapples, and avocados, houses the restaurant-guinguette-bar-reception area, but would you have guessed that the kitchen was installed in containers from the Groupama team of the America's Cup? And on the site, you won't find any plastic water bottles, but rather an educational garden, nature workshops for children, green electricity, dry toilets, ecological materials, and three hectares of replanted forest.
La Belle Folie continues to develop its program of workshops, conferences, concerts, and will host all kinds of initiatives that bring this beautiful energy: the latest novelty, immersion in hot water combined with a natural environment, the Nordic bath is the must of the soothing sensory experience (1 hour offered to the lucky 'cabineers').

Designed and made by the Metamobil workshop, double bed, electrical outlets, insulated and heated and therefore available all year round.
On site, bar, restaurant, packed meals and picnics, library (press and games), Wi-Fi connection, barbecue areas, deck chairs, bowling alley. In its large wood-fired heated barrel (38°), the Nordic bath in the heart of nature enhances the range of pleasures, 1 hour is even offered to you for every night in a cabin!
Program of concerts, workshops and classes available on the website.
On request as an option, babysitting, rental of classic or electric bikes, and depending on the association's calendars, permaculture training and cultural activities. A little further away, boat trips, stand up paddle, kayaking or land sailing, surfing, kite surfing, fishing, horseback riding, visits to megalithic sites, massages.
