Presentation Practical information
Unique cabins on skis in the world.

In the far north of Finland, Inari is a labyrinth of tiny wild islands and large forests of pines and birches. Each year, as winter settles over these vast calm expanses, the lake freezes, and you can go snowshoeing or sledding. Skiing is also popular here, just like our host Esko.
In 2014, when Esko regretted in the evening not being able to enjoy more of the atmosphere of the frozen lake and its changing skies, he designed a first prototype of a cabin on skis, "Cabine n°1".

Today, alongside the six classic cabins that accommodate up to three people, one family cabin has been adapted and features two twin beds. The newest cabin has a narrower window structure that sets it apart from the previous ones.

At 8:30 PM, you board your cabin, which the guide tows by snowmobile to the middle of the lake. You have the entire night, warm in your cabin, to take in the frozen landscapes and the Arctic night sky that Esko cherishes so much. In the warmth of this heated bedroom, the night will be unforgettable.

For safety reasons, the cabins will be open on the frozen lake starting from the end of December, as soon as the minimum ice thickness of 20 cm is reached. In 2024, the lake was accessible from November 28th.
