Hotel on stilts on Lake Neuchâtel
Presentation
Practical information
From design to the great outdoors: a breathtaking view of the lake and the Alps.
The Hotel Palafitte was established in 2002, on the occasion of the 2002 National Exhibition, a temporary cultural event, to meet the additional demand for five-star accommodation.
Initially set up for 18 months, these pavilions were meant to be relocated after Expo 02. However, the 40 pavilions designed by Lausanne-based architect Kurt Hofmann found a permanent home on the shores of Lake Neuchâtel, a lake with wild landscapes and enchanting panoramas; since then, these pavilions have been the only 5* rooms on stilts in Europe.
Each pavilion consists of a spacious room and its private terrace, with direct access to the lake for the overwater bungalows. Inside, cutting-edge technology and sophisticated home automation reign supreme. 68 m2 of comfort and services.
But the magic lies elsewhere: the breathtaking view of the lake and the Alps and that gentle feeling of being alone in the world.
If you visit at the end of September, take part in the Grape Harvest Festival, the most popular festival in the canton of Neuchâtel. All information can be found on their site.
A unique experience in Switzerland!
