A converted airplane into a single and unique luxury Suite
The history of this plane, an Ilyushin 18, begins in 1960 in the GDR. A government aircraft in its early years, it was later operated by Interflug, an East German airline, to provide flights to Cuba, Russia, China, or even Vietnam.
After the reunification of West Germany and East Germany, the plane served as a restaurant for 15 years before being purchased by Hotelsuites.nl in 2007.
Located at Teuge Airport, the plane has been transformed into a luxury Suite. A single and unique room within the 40 meters of the plane. For your information: during its operation, it could accommodate no less than 120 passengers.
For enthusiasts, the cockpit is still in place. You can take the controls and imagine yourself for a moment at 9,000 meters altitude heading towards the countries of the former Eastern bloc.
For those who would like to actually take to the skies, the nearby airport offers helicopter rides, flight lessons, airplane tours, skydiving jumps, ...
